I direct the design, development and implementation of AED's English language Interactive Radio Instruction program in Egypt. Duties include supervising writing and recording IRI/EFL programs and writing teachers' guides and supplemental material, conducting pre- and in-service training of teacher trainers, designing and implementing a monitoring and evaluation plan. .
Taught Expository Writing, Business Communication, Business Writing and Developmental English. Active member of the Faculty Senate, the Language Arts Department and several planning committees. Maintained regular office hours to advise and mentor students. Pioneered the use of the internet as a teaching tool at MCC. My students have used computers for writing and turning in notes and essays, communicating with one another and with me, conducting library catalogue research and web research.
Helped develop ESL program for Maui Language Institute.
Created WEB-site for course materials .

Wrote and supervised Project Plan (management by objective model) for Peace Corps Volunteers who taught EFL and trained EFL teachers in the Yemeni University System. Coordinated project with Deans of Faculties of Education throughout Yemen. Participated in budgeting process. Planned Coordinated and supervised TEFL technical, Arabic language and cross-cultural pre-service and in-service training for volunteers. Planned and led completion-of-service seminars to help volunteers readjust to life in the U.S. Collaborated in the presentation of cross-cultural training seminars at the U.S. Embassy, Sanaa, for newly arrived American personnel. Maintained computer network at Peace Corps office, Sanaa.
Testing, Placement, Scheduling, Instructing and Computer System Management for non-intensive EFL program.
Intensive EAP program for Yemeni nationals. Taught reading, writing, speaking skills and grammar at all levels. Computer labs (MAC & Apple II), and Listening Lab supervision. Planned and conducted orientation to American culture for each group of participants . Orientations included an overview of USAID rules and regulations, U.S. law, government, culture (food, holidays, family life, entertainment, etc.), and essential skills such as banking, leasing an apartment, shopping, driving and American attitudes toward time management. Returned Yemeni participants were asked to present their personal experiences adjusting to life in the U.S. and more importantly, readjusting to life in Yemen.
Responsible for implementing a cooperative agreement between OSU, USAID and USIS for the operation of an intensive EAP program. Duties included supervising the YALI faculty and staff, overseeing and approving the disbursement of funds, preparing the budget and work plan, evaluating personnel and reporting to OSU, USAID and agencies sponsoring students. Supported and supervised the Academic Coordinator, Testing Officer, Computer Specialist and Business Manager. Served on planning committee for annual national EFL teachers conference, 1983 to 1990. Chaired conference in 1989. Led workshops at most conferences.

Coordinated placement of participants and instructed in intensive EAP program for future teacher trainers from the Republic of Yemen. Taught reading, writing, speaking skills and grammar at all levels. Developed materials, planned and conducted American cultural orientation classes for participants.
Coordinated academic curriculum, cross-cultural activities and housing logistics for trainees from a large middle-eastern oil company. Curriculum consisted of advanced reading, grammar and rhetoric. Cross-cultural orientation activities included survival skills such as opening bank accounts and purchasing vehicles as well as weekly excursions to area business and local government facilities.
Taught EFL and U.S. culture to adults in non-intensive, USIS program.
Taught in an intensive university level English for Scientific Purposes program in Boumerdes, Algeria. Developed Math Module and Video Lessons for content based EST instruction. Attended summer seminar in developing video lessons, BBC, London, 1979. Participated in cross-cultural orientation for Algerian faculty candidates who were nominated for graduate study in America.
Presented TEFL technical training sessions. Planned and supervised practice teaching and cross-cultural training. Counseled trainees. Assisted in Arabic language training.
Graduate Assistantships in respective EAP programs while working on my M.A. Taught reading and grammar to beginners. Produced tape recorded pronunciation drills for Arabic speakers, MSU listening lab.
Created and taught EFL course for adult trainees in U.N. sponsored Urban Planning Project.. Created demonstration kitchen; trained Yemeni hospital cooks in preparation of U.N. supplied foodstuff. Assisted in the construction of several hospital kitchens..
